【摘要】:Porevolumedistributioncurvesobtainedfromnitrogensorptionisothermsprovideoneofthebestmeansofcharacterizingtheporestructureinporouscatalysts,providedthatthelimitationsofthemethodarekeptinmind.UsedinconjunctionwiththeBETtreatmentforsurfaceareadetermination(4),thesemethodsprovideanindispensablemeansforstudyingthestructureassociatedwithporesusuallyimportantincatalysts.Thispracticeisparticularlyusefulinstudyingchangesinaseriesofcloselyrelatedsamplescausedbytreatments,suchasheat,compression,orextrusionoftenusedincatalystmanufacturing.Porevolumedistributioncurvescanoftenprovidevaluableinformationduringmechanisticstudiesdealingwithcatalystdeactivation.1.1Thispracticecoversthecalculationofporesizedistributionsforcatalystsandcatalystcarriersfromnitrogendesorptionisotherms.Thecomputationalprocedureisparticularlyusefulfordetermininghowtheporevolumeisdistributedincatalystsamplescontainingporeswhosesizesrangefromapproximately1.5to100nm(15to1000)inradius.Itshouldbeusedwithcautionwhenappliedtoisothermsforsamplescontainingporesbothwithinthissizerangeandporeslargerthan100nm(1000)inradius.InsuchinstancestheisothermsrisesteeplynearP/Po=1andthetotalporevolumecannotbewelldefined.ThecalculationsshouldbebegunatapointontheisothermnearsaturationpreferablyinaregionnearP/Po=0.99,establishinganupperlimitontheporesizedistributionrangetobestudied.Simplificationsarenecessaryregardingporeshape.Acylindricalporemodelisassumed,andthemethodtreatstheporesasnon-intersecting,open-endedcapillarieswhichareassumedtofunctionindependentlyofeachotherduringtheadsorptionordesorptionofnitrogen.Note1-Thispracticeisdesignedprimarilyformanualcomputationandafewsimplificationshavebeenmadeforthispurpose.Forcomputercomputation,thesimplifiedexpressionsmaybereplacedbyexactexpressions.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
